A poll a while back asked us to review the new V8 Defender... So we did. But with a PHEV twist, of course...

This is a full, back-to-back review of the ying to Land Rover’s yang and the V8 (P525) Vs the PHEV (P400e) all new Land Rover Defender.

The Defender was the new car launch that Covid robbed Jonny of several opportunities of driving – firstly in Namibia, then in several other locations – so he decided to make up for that by comparing the two highest performing versions against one another.

The surprise here is that the £65k PHEV is almost as quick 0-62 as the 110 V8, and yet it’s significantly cheaper.
